Kink X Punch Room

The Kink in Prenzlauer Berg has not been an insider tip for a long time. An excellent restaurant married with a fabulous bar. Most recently, the bar won the awards for ‘Bar of the Year’ and ‘Bar Team of the Year’, and regulars can only enthusiastically agree with these titles. As a prelude to the guest shifts around Bar Convent Berlin, the team from the Punch Room in London will be guests on Sunday evening. The Punch Room in the London Edition Hotel is located in a discreet, wood-panelled back room and specialises in those punches that are usually served in convivial rounds with ladles from decorative bowls. This is a trend in Great Britain that has yet to be discovered in German-speaking countries. Of course, the team also masters the cocktail classics and develops its own delicious twists. The opportunity for a Punch Room experience is favourable when BCB kick-off is called around the Kink's great Hidden Fortress bar, supported by Ford's Gin.

Lovis Restaurant & Bar X Bar X Gabriel Daun, Sven Riebel & Jakob Etzold

Casual walkers will not find this bar. Cocktail aficionados have to know exactly behind which door Lovis is located, because the bar has not been open for too long. The restaurant of the outstanding chef Sophia Rudolph has been around a little longer in this enchanting hotel, housed in a former prison. The path across the green inner courtyard no longer resembles the inmates' free passage; it ends in the discreet and elegant bar, which serves as the restaurant's anteroom.

The mysterious bar with its subtle aroma concept in the wonderfully illuminated bottles is only a stone's throw away from the exhibition centre. Bartenders Gabriel Daun (Gekkos Group), Sven Riebel (The Tiny Cup), Jakob Etzold from Melbourne will accept Botucal Rum's invitation to give us a delicious evening behind bars.

Velvet X Botanical By Alfonse

The delightful Velvet Bar always surprises guests with a carefully curated variety of flora and fauna in the glasses. The team enjoys roaming the forests and gardens of the capital to explore, gather, pick and harvest. From this, delicious ingredients are created, which in turn result in fascinating drinks. Now, with the support of Citadelle Gin and Plantation Rum, the like-minded from Namur, Belgium, join them for an evening. The team of Botanical by Alphonse follows a similar concept. In their daily work, they produce many of the components for the cocktails themselves, placing great emphasis on sustainability and the environment. 

The Alchemist X Schofield’s Bar

The Alchemist is probably the most spectacular new opening in Berlin in recent months. Excitingly experimental, with a multitude of technical devices, the bar team at Potsdamer Platz develops spectacular drink creations, ravishingly served. They call themselves "masters of the dark arts of molecular mixology" and welcome us to their "served theatre". It steams, smokes and bubbles before the drinks are ravishingly served. The newly designed mega-mall ‘The Playce’ hides the elegant all-day concept from brunch to dinner to late-night drinking. 

In Great Britain, the concept has developed into a successful model with currently more than 20 bars. The concept has its roots in Manchester, where the very first The Alchemist Bar opened in 2010. As a tribute to these roots, Rachel Orange from Schofield's Bar in Manchester is invited for this special evening. The gorgeous historic bar with its art nouveau design places great emphasis on the perfection of the classic cocktail and so two delightfully different bar concepts meet for a delicious liquid dialogue.

This evening may well be a little puzzling. Kong? Isn't that the famous dog toy brand? And Rumble in the Jungle was that legendary boxing match in Zaire in October 1974 in which Muhammad Ali defeated George Foreman, wasn't it? And who is this ominous Jack Daniel's that presents us with this mysterious bar evening?

In any case, bartenders from the splendid Drink Kong Bar in Rome await us there, carefully crafting drinks with a Japanese twist, featuring sweetness, acidity, bitterness and the unpredictable "Kong Factor". They are joined by the Athens speakeasy bar Rumble in the Jungle, which marries its exciting elixirs with neon lights and DJ sounds behind an inconspicuous door. Let's be curious and take the scent. Delicious treats will reward us.

Kink X Hanky Panky

The old Pfefferberg brewery site is home to the Kink bar and restaurant concept with a charming and creative bar team. For the Monday evening of BCB, the team is making their kitchen lab and counter available to a bar lady who is making the long journey from Mexico City to enrich Bar Convent Berlin. On this evening, Gina Barbachano will give us an idea of how the Mexican palate interprets the tried and tested cocktail landscape. 

Kink X Mister Paradise

It's a pity that the Kink doesn't also offer accommodation in addition to its bar, summer garden and restaurant, otherwise you could settle in for several great bar evenings right away. On the Tuesday of BCB, an exciting guest shift from faraway climes awaits us here as well. This day, the team from Mister Paradise in New York City does the honours, travelling from the East Village to East Berlin. Having opened in 2019, the bar offers an exciting culinary mix with drinks, food, food-inspired drinks and partying. Operator Will Wyatt confesses, "We never take ourselves seriously. But our drinks we certainly do!" 

Wax On X No Sleep Club

Recently, this bar was the talk of the town. Awarded the title of ‘Best New Bar 2023’ and at the same time the title of ‘Newcomer of the Year’ for bartender Rose-Manon Baux attracted countless drink experts to the cosy bar in Neukölln. A relaxed atmosphere meets fascinating drink creations and opulent aromas. Centrifuge, rotary evaporator and other techniques contribute to the uniqueness of the cocktails. There is also a nice selection of Natural Wines.

Thanks to the support of Woodford Reserve, bartender Juan Yi Jun from Singapore is coming to Berlin to showcase her craft for an evening.
