Sweden is known for its wide range of high-quality and flavorful food products and is considered a pioneer in the areas of innovation and sustainability. The beverage market of the Scandinavian country also has a lot to offer, of which BCB visitors can be convinced this year.

A fresh wind from the north is coming to Berlin! "Try Swedish", the food and beverage brand platform of Business Sweden, the Swedish Trade and Investment Council, brings together innovative Swedish beverage producers of the highest quality at BCB this year. A total of nine brands will be presenting their products at the joint stand in Hall 18, where BCB visitors can taste birch sap wine, innovative whisky, alcohol free gin and much more.

Oddbird

Oddbird offers quality assured beverages liberated from alcohol from the best vineyards in the best regions. Their wines are traditionally aged for 12 months before being stripped of alcohol using a patented method that preserves the wine's original character. These include Blanc de Blancs, a modern, dry sparkling wine with high complexity and delicate bubbles, and Sparkling Rosé, a silky, balanced and rather dry rosé sparkling wine, both from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France.

But a gin also joins their product portfolio: 2097 Gin is an Arctic botanical spirit liberated from alcohol, made with berries and plants from northern Sweden. The characteristic berries and plants create a complex sensory experience that creates a sense of the fantastic terroir of the mythical north.

The Swedish company loves to shake things up, look to the future, and firmly believes that the most amazing whisky creations have yet to be born.

Agitator Whisky is distilled and bottled in Arboga, Sweden. The company's secret ingredient? - Their dedication to daring experiments and cutting-edge distillation techniques for a unique taste experience.

Savhuset

Savhuset is a unique winery located in the heart of Sweden, in the beautiful city of Östersund. Their range consists of exclusive birch sap drinks inspired by Scandinavian nature and the beauty of life in the north.

One of their products is the "Sav™ Sparkling", which is made entirely according to the "méthode traditionnelle" and sits on its lees for eight years before being released to the market. Each of their drinks is made according to an original recipe dating back to 1785, which founder Peter Mosten discovered in an archive belonging to the Swedish chemical engineer and researcher Gunnar Jegrelius.

Västerås Destilleri

Behind Västerås Destilleri are a bartender and a chef who joined forces to create Västerås first craft distillery. Their shared vision was to make organic premium products with inspirations and flavors from around the world – and for the whole world. With a love of flavor, Västerås Destilleri is now one of the fastest growing distilleries in Sweden.

At the heart of the distillery is Västerås Dry Gin, distilled with NGS from Swedish winter wheat, juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, fresh lemon peel, elderflower, black Tellicherry pepper, Damascus rose and barberry.

Also in their product portfolio: Västerås Pink Gin, to which natural pomegranate seeds are added for color after distillation, giving it a subtle berry flavor, and Västerås Navy Strength and Västerås Gimlet, a ready-to-drink beverage in a bottle of gin, sugar and lime.

H.A.R.R.E.L

H.A.R.R.E.L distills Swedish rum that is vacuum distilled on pot stills, which allows for better preservation of aroma and flavor. It has a mild and smooth aroma and tastes of fruits, raisins, licorice and slightly dark notes. In addition, they also have imported rum in their warehouse, mainly from the Caribbean and South America.

But that's not all: the distillery also produces gin, among other things. Here they focus on a dry gin with flavors of bitter orange, black currant, blackberry and cornflower. And the popular Scandinavian spirit Aquavit is also part of their product portfolio.

In addition to the Pilsner and Indian Pale Ale, Sahlins Brygghus will also be showcasing their various tonics at BCB, among others. Among them is the Indian Tonic, which was awarded the gold medal and best in class at the Swedish Gin and Tonic Festival 2022. Spirit of Hven Distillery

The Spirit of Hven Distillery has been distilling world-class spirits since 2008. The island of Hven in the Swedish Öresund offers optimal conditions for alcohol production. Its location between the two coasts of Denmark and Sweden, the nutrient-rich soil and the mild microclimate contribute to the complexity that characterizes the spirits.

The Spirit of Hven Distillery began as one of the smallest pot still distilleries in the world, with all steps from mashing, fermentation and distillation to storage and bottling in oak barrels taking place under one roof. They now export whiskey, vodka, gin and aquavit to over 40 countries.

Among other things, they will be presenting the "Moderato Aperitivo Al Rhubaro" at their booth. This is wonderful chilled as an aperitif or can also be served as a drink ingredient. It captivates with a spicy, sweet, slightly bitter taste with hints of vermouth, rhubarb, rose hips and orange peel.
